Cabbage And Noodles

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 lb egg noodles, cooked and drained (or you could use ziti pasta)
  • 1 large head green cabbage, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 5 basil leaves, finely chopped (or 1 t dried basil)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 t dried)
  • 1 small sweet onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • salt, to taste
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated

Recipe

  • 1 boil cabbage until soft; drain.
  • 2 in large nonstick skillet, melt the butter with the olive oil.
  • 3 add garlic, basil, parsley, onion, lemon zest, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper.
  • 4 saute until the cabbage starts to brown.
  • 5 you can put a lid on it and keep stirring every few minutes.
  • 6 when the cabbage is nicely browned, add cooked noodles and mix.
  • 7 add the parmesan cheese and mix.
