Creamy Onion Canapes

Ingredients
- 2 large onions, cut into rings
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 loaf bread
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- seasoning salt, to taste
- black pepper, to taste
- red pepper flakes, to taste
- paprika, to taste
- mayonnaise, to taste
Recipe
- 1 preheat the oven to 400°f.
- 2 caramelize the onions by sautéing them in oil until they are brown and slightly sticky -- about 20 to 25 minutes. remove from heat and set aside.
- 3 cut the bread into 2" rounds, using a drinking glass or biscuit cutter.
- 4 toast one side of the bread.
- 5 season the cream cheese with worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and paprika.
- 6 spread the cream cheese mixture on the toasted side of the bread rounds.
- 7 top the center with caramelized onions. frost with mayonnaise and sprinkle lightly with paprika.
- 8 bake until toasted and bubbly -- about 15 to 20 minutes.
- 9 enjoy!
