Creamy Onion Canapes

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, cut into rings
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 loaf bread
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • seasoning salt, to taste
  • black pepper, to taste
  • red pepper flakes, to taste
  • paprika, to taste
  • mayonnaise, to taste

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 400°f.
  • 2 caramelize the onions by sautéing them in oil until they are brown and slightly sticky -- about 20 to 25 minutes. remove from heat and set aside.
  • 3 cut the bread into 2" rounds, using a drinking glass or biscuit cutter.
  • 4 toast one side of the bread.
  • 5 season the cream cheese with worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and paprika.
  • 6 spread the cream cheese mixture on the toasted side of the bread rounds.
  • 7 top the center with caramelized onions. frost with mayonnaise and sprinkle lightly with paprika.
  • 8 bake until toasted and bubbly -- about 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 9 enjoy!
