Baked Ravioli

Ingredients
- Servings: 6
- 1 lb cheese ravioli or 1 lb meat ravioli, frozen
- 2 tablespoons crisco, canola or 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 (375 ml) can carnation evaporated milk, hot (regular, 2% or fat-free)
- 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f grease an 8x8 baking dish.
- 2 cool ravioli according to package directions. drain well and reserve.
- 3 heat oil in medium pan over medium heat. add onion, garlic, dried basil and red pepper flakes. cook for 3 minutes, stirring, but do not brown.
- 4 whisk in hot evaporated milk, and bring to a boil. add tomato sauce. cook for about 3 minutes, stirring often. add reserved cooked ravioli and mozzarella cheese. stir to combine. pour into prepared dish. sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- 5 bake in preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned.
- 6 tips: you can use tortellini, gnocchi, or any other of your favorite pastas.
