Chocolate Kisses For Dieters

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder (hershey's)
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups five-grain cereal, flakes

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 325 degrees f.
  • 2 spray a cookie sheet with pam (non-stick cooking spray).
  • 3 sift powdered sugar and cocoa together in a medium sized bowl and set aside.
  • 4 in a large bowl beat egg whites until frothy.
  • 5 add granulated sugar to egg whites one tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition and continue beating until it is stiff and glossy (meringue).
  • 6 beat in vanilla.
  • 7 fold cocoa/sugar mixture and cereal flakes into meringue.
  • 8 drop meringue onto cookie sheets using 2 teaspoons of meringue per cookie - one inch apart making 28 kisses.
  • 9 bake for 20 minutes or until kisses are dry and set.
  • 10 cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes and then remove kisses to a cooling rack to continue cooling.
