Blue Cheese Biscuits

Ingredients

- 4 slices bacon, crisp and crumbled
- 2 cups unsiftede all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons dried onion flakes
- 1/3 cup firmly packed blue cheese
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
Recipe
- 1 preheat over to 450 degrees.
- 2 mix bacon, flour, baking powder, salt, onion.
- 3 cut in blue cheese and shortening until particles are like small peas.
- 4 stir in buttermilk to form a soft sticky dough.
- 5 place dough on floured board and knead several times to make a smooth ball.
- 6 roll dough to 1/2 inch thick.
- 7 cut rounds with two inch cookie cutter.
- 8 place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- 9 bake 12- 15 minutes.
