Chili Concoction Option

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 4 fresh garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 tablespoons dark chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon hot hungarian paprika
  • 2 teaspoons garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon dark molasses
  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash tabasco sauce
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 3 (14 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
  • 2 (14 ounce) cans dark red kidney beans
  • 1 (11 ounce) can mexicorn
  • 1 (4 ounce) can sliced black olives
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in a large pot, brown ground beef with onion. drain.
  • 2 add garlic and dry spices. cook stirring for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  • 3 add tomato paste, molasses, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce and tabasco sauce. stir until combined.
  • 4 stir in the rest of the ingredients (except vinegar). bring to a boil. turn down heat to low and cook uncovered for 1 hour, stirring a few times.
  • 5 add balsamic vinegar. stir.
  • 6 serve hot with shredded cheese, sour cream and chopped green onions.
