Cheddar Broccoli Corn Bake

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 7
  • 1/4 cup margarine, divided
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups skim milk
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups corn flakes, crushed and divided
  • 1 (16 ounce) can corn, drained
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen broccoli spears, cooked and drained

Recipe

  • 1 melt 2 t margarine in large saucepan over low heat.
  • 2 stir in flour and salt.
  • 3 add milk graduallly, stirring until smooth.
  • 4 increase heat to medium and cook until bubbly and thickened, stirring constantly.
  • 5 add cheese, stirring until melted.
  • 6 stir in 1/4 c corn flakes and corn and remove from heat.
  • 7 arrange broccoli in 12 x 7 1/2 x 2" (2 quart) glass baking dish.
  • 8 pour cheese sauce over broccoli.
  • 9 melt remaining margarine in saucepan; stir in remaining cereal.
  • 10 sprinkle over casserole.
  • 11 bake at 350 f 30 minutes or until heated.
