Cajun Jelly Roll Steak

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 large round steak (bone removed)
  • 1 lb lean ground meat
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup finely diced onion
  • 1 finely diced garlic clove

Recipe

  • 1 rinse steak.
  • 2 rub 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes all over steak and set aside.
  • 3 mix remaining ingredients with ground meat.
  • 4 lay steak out flat on cookie sheet.
  • 5 spread the seasoned ground meat over the steak.
  • 6 roll up steak (jelly roll style).
  • 7 tie each end and middle with string.
  • 8 wrap in foil.
  • 9 bake on cookie sheet.
  • 10 375 degrees for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
  • 11 unwrap for the last 15 minutes to brown turn after first 7 minutes to brown other side.
  • 12 remove and let stand for 5 minutes.
  • 13 slice and serve.
  • 14 can serve with cream potatoes on the side with gravy.
