Chocolate Pigs

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 12 large marshmallows
  • 12 mini marshmallows
  • 200 g dark chocolate (cooking)
  • 50 g copha (oppt, makes the dipping easier and gives a shinier finish)
  • 24 rainbow chocolate chips (or mini m&m's)
  • 1 chocolate baking square
  • 24 pieces sliced almonds (or one ice cream wafer)

Recipe

  • 1 melt the chocolate and copha together.
  • 2 meanwhile, with scissors or hot knife, make a cut in the "rounded" part of the large marshmallow.
  • 3 insert 2 almond flakes, small point upwards (ears).
  • 4 or (for nut free) cut your ice cream wafers into small triangles and use them for ears.
  • 5 dip the end of the small marshmallow into the choc and position on lower half of the "top" of the large marshmallow.
  • 6 allow to set, (in fridge, about 10 minutes).
  • 7 using any method you prefer, (skewers, dipper, forks etc.) coat the entire pig face into the chocolate, let drip a little, then position on a baking tray covered with baking paper.
  • 8 allow to set, about an hour.
  • 9 re-melt the remaining chocolate and use tweezers to dip the "eyes" into the chocolate and position above the nose. wipe tweezers between uses.
  • 10 melt your tiny amount of chocolate and using a toothpick, give your pig nostrils.
  • 11 if your really arty, you can give them curly tails on the back of the creation!
