Deep Fried Garlic

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 whole fresh bulbs of garlic
  • boiling water
  • 1 cup biscuit mix
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup beer
  • 2 teaspoons parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • vegetable oil (for deep frying)

Recipe

  • 1 separate bulbs and peel garlic.
  • 2 drop cloves into boiling water and when boiling resumes, blanch for about 3-4 minutes. the longer the cloves cook the milder their flavor, but don't overcook or they will be mushy.
  • 3 drain and pour cold water over to cool.
  • 4 meanwhile, prepare batter by combining biscuit mix, egg, beer, parsley and salt.
  • 5 heat vegetable oil in deep pot or fry cooker.
  • 6 dip each cooked clove of garlic into batter and fry until golden brown in color.
  • 7 remove from oil and drain on paper towel.
  • 8 serve hot.
