Butterscotcharoon Bars

Total Time: 43 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 28 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup lightly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 egg whites, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flaked coconut
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips

Recipe

  • 1 combine 1 cup flour,brown sugar and salt.
  • 2 cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs;press into bottom of greased 9-inch square pan.
  • 3 bake at 350°f for 10 minutes.mix together egg whites,sugar,2 tablespoons of flour and vanilla in a large bowl.
  • 4 add coconut and butterscotch chips;stir lightly to combine.
  • 5 spoon coconut mixture over baked layer.
  • 6 bake an additional 18 to 20 minutes;cool before cutting into bars.
