Coconut Chocolate Walnut Bars

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour, plus
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup coarsly chopped walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 butter a 9" square baking pan.
  • 3 sift the flour, baking soda and salt together into a mixing bowl.
  • 4 cream butter with sugars in another bowl until light and fluffy.
  • 5 beat in egg and vanilla.
  • 6 add coconut, chips, and walnuts and blend well.
  • 7 pour into pan and smooth out evenly.
  • 8 bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minute or until top is golden brown.
  • 9 center will be slightly moist with toothpick test.
  • 10 allow to cool and cut into bars (about 24).
