Chocolate Upside-down Cake

Ingredients

- 1 (18 ounce) package devil's food cake mix
- 3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 1/3 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 1 1/3 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 1/2 cup margarine or 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 3 1/2 ounces flaked coconut
- whipping cream (optional)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 melt butter or margarine in a 13x9 pan.
- 3 add water and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over pan.
- 4 arrange coconut and nuts in sugar.
- 5 mix cake as directed on package and pour batter over mixture in pan.
- 6 bake at 350f 45-50 minutes til toothpick comes clean.
- 7 let stand in pan 5 minutes for topping to set.
- 8 turn upside down on a large platter or cookie sheet with sides.
- 9 serve topped with whipping cream if desired.
